uh, how to explain
well i haven't drawn anything in nearly 3 weeks now and this pointless art block was getting ridiculous. i just had to find SOMETHING to inspire me again. and so....this. lolol.

so. i'm always hanging around the boarders of the Hetalia fandom, for so many months now >_> but felt a bit left out as an Australian. i've been holding back on making Aussie and NZ characters for a long time now simply because of my disdain for most fan-characters, but...i just couldn't help it this time xD; sorrrry
and boy did it get my inspiration back. i just cant stop thinking up little comic strips and crap for their relations together/with the rest of the world.

i mean i know we're pretty much just tools in war for Brittan and more recently USA. :/ but wth. i'm having fun with this! so i'm probably going to continue with it for a little while. and who knows, it may even get me into doing some proper official APH fanart sometime?? lol.
i'm actually kinda reluctant to fanart them with official APH characters yet, i dont know how i feel about it. what do you guys think??? i'm just hoping AUS and NZ may just oneday get a mention as part of WWII by Himaruya Hidekaz? >: and if so i'll definitely stop drawing fan-characters and start drawing official. but until then...i hope i dont piss any hardcore APH fans off with the impeding crack. >u>;;;

ALSO! i dont want to seem to claim these guys as my own!!! D: how can I!? they're totally not mine, just my rendition of them. so if you want to draw/design them yourself, then go right ahead! i mean, if you use my renditions as inspiration/reference then i wouldn't mind being credited or mentioned. but otherwise, please don't consider them MINE xD i've seen a couple of other designs for them around the place myself, so.

and now onto the characters themselves~
i'll go into this a little more when i submit my next pic which i'm almost finished with. but here i'll explain at least their appearance. (which is subject to change xD)

i always thought that there were WAY TOO MANY BLONDS amongst the western countries in Hetalia. D: so i decided to try to make them still look 'European' but not so...blond!! (even though i am myself lmao) i gave them more tanned skin because, well AUS is hot as hell, but also adding abit of ethnicity?? i thought AUS could have big eye-brows from UK, but not as dark. and NZ could have his green eyes. but also with the eye colour- AUS is know as 'wide brown land' and NZ is most definitely very green x'D so i thought that would suit. ...maybe?? idk

oh and the names. well they're kinda random. and i'm still not sure about them myself, but i was just looking up popular names in 1930s and they were on the list. i think Alexander jumped out to me (even though it's a Greek name??) because it starts with "A" like Australia, but it also has the same amount of letters aswell. cool no?? haha. ; and William is a popular western name...um NewZealand has a "W" in it xD;;; and well. Alex and Will are cute nicknames together??? OTL
Height is based off the average male height in the country. (though AUS is apparently 177cm.) and age...i kinda wanted to make them maybe 17? but felt wrong seeing as you're not allowed to enlist until 18yrs old. lol

anyway. to finish this long ass comment up. PLEASE DO TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!! : D
i'm happy to consider any input and discuss any ideas about their design/personalities!! they're not just mine after all. OH and if you are a New Zealander- please DO put forward your opinions. <3 because well...although i love NZ, have had many good friends as exchange-students from there, and really really want to travel there some day soon- i am certainly no expert! XD if i get anything wrong please correct me.

did you know in the last 2 years, i've been asked 3 TIMES if i'm from New Zealand!! x____x sometimes with my slurred mumbling and posher speech...i sound like i've got a NZ accent. X'D even i can hear myself with the 'sex' thing sometimes HAHAHAA. but then when i TRY to imitate it deliborately, i absolutely FAIL XDDDD it only ever happens by accident.
