Say Hello to my TABLET

My first attempt at EVER using a tablet. P:< i'm such a noob.

Yep. got home from work about 2 hours ago now and found a big arse package on my bed! Woohoo! Tablet!
it's just a medium sized black Bamboo fun. decided to start out with something relatively cheap, plus this one came with PS elements 5.0 and corel. sounded like a pretty alright deal, considering i needed an art program for my new laptop. No use buying a tablet if i have no program to draw in D:

so after about 10 minutes of mucking around doing random scribbles and trying to get my usual handwriting style down, This is my first attempt at an actual drawing. XD took about 20-30 minutes, but i gradually got the hang of it. very sketchy though. it started out as a girl....but now he? kinda looks like a young teen Stan or som'n. idn.

i love pressure sensitivity. it's the thing i was looking forward to most. <3
tell you what though. there are some things that will take abit of gettin used to.
1. Vista (D< i miss you XP)
2. elements 5.0 is abit gay. i like my old elements 2.0 much better. it's tools set up is much more user friendly :[
and 3. just the fact that i'm not using a mouse. i'm so used to being able to keep my wrist in exactly the same spot and reach from one side of the screen to the other with the tinniest movement. and i also tend to pick the mouse up alot... i'm used to the curser staying in the same spot when you put it back down in a different place. XDDDD thats how i manuver around usually. in smaller jerky strokes.
CAN NOT do that with a tablet! hahahaa. i still feel retarded every time i forget it's different and go back to my mouse techniques but hey. small sacrifices. very small.

i was on the verge of a productivity/art block and was going to journal about it today. i have basically done nothing productive all week, i was starting to feel somewhat depressed. but yeah, the tablet pretty much just shat all over that. now i can't wait to practice some more <333 weeee
(i'm kinda sad i'm not going to be a mouse artist anymore though. oh the memories ;o; this is a turning point in my life *gets all soapy*)
